Designer
Hee Welling è un designer danese laureatosi presso la Danish Design School di Copenaghen nel 2003 in design del prodotti e del mobile. I design di Hee Welling hanno radici profonde nella tradizione del design scandinavo. I suoi lavori sono semplici, funzionali e raffinati e in essi due importanti criteri sono la forma e la funzione.
Subito dopo la laurea, Welling ha fondato il proprio studio di design a Copenaghen, Hee Welling Design Studio. Oltre a lavorare nel suo studio, Welling insegna agli studenti internazionali presso la Danish Design School. I lavori di Hee Welling sono stati in mostra nelle fiere di Colonia, Londra, New York, Milano, Singapore, Stoccolma e Tokyo. Il design più famoso di Hee Welling è la sedia Hee, didponibile in diverse versioni - sedia Hee, poltrona Hee e sgabello da bar Hee - e colori. L'idea per la sedia Hee deriva dall'ambizione di realizzare una sedia ecologica i cui materiali siano facilmente riciclabili. L'idea di base era quella di creare una sedia bella e basilare che fosse adatta in ambienti diversi e che fosse moderna ma allo stesso tempo senza tempo. La sedia Hee è adatta anche in ambienti esterni ed è in uso ad esempio all'Opera di Oslo e al Parlamento australiano.
