La collezione Sobremesa, frutto della collaborazione tra Laila Gohar e HAY, allieta la vista di chi la ammira. Secondo Gohar, ogni pasto è una storia che racchiude molto più del semplice atto del mangiare: è la scelta attenta degli ingredienti, la preparazione del cibo con cuore e passione, la disposizione della tavola, il momento condiviso con amici o famigliari e, infine, la “sobremesa”, un termine della cultura spagnola che indica il momento in cui ci si ferma a chiacchierare dopo il pasto, godendosi l’atmosfera e la vita.

Designer
Laila Gohar (nata nel 1988) è una chef e artista che vive a New York, nota per le sue opere d’arte fatte con il cibo, come le sculture di burro, una poltrona in pasta di brioche e una torre di migliaia di marshmallow. Nata in Egitto, Gohar si trasferì a Miami all’età di 18 anni per studiare arti visive e relazioni internazionali. In seguito si trasferì nuovamente a New York, dove iniziò a sviluppare la sua attività di catering, Sunday Supper, parallelamente al suo lavoro in vari ristoranti. Oggi, lo studio di Laila Gohar organizza installazioni, performance ed iniziative pop-up interattive, sempre con il cibo come protagonista, in occasione di eventi d’arte, moda e design in tutto il mondo. Gohar, inoltre, ha disegnato una collezione di articoli ispirati alla cucina in collaborazione con il brand danese HAY.
